Cast Testimonies Continued:

I have been asked to give my feelings as a member of the cast of “Joseph Smith – Lover of the Cause of Christ”. I am a convert to the church since 1978. As a convert my family and I received a testimony of Joseph Smith Jr. before we were baptized. Doing this production has been a great testimony strengthener for me. Watching Jayd M. (Joseph Smith Jr.) grow in his part was very emotional for me and also gave me a stronger testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith Jr. Jayd was not only an actor doing a part, he was the Prophet Joseph Smith. It was like Joseph was there on stage with all of us. The feelings and testimony I received as a member of the cast of “Joseph Smith – Lover of the Cause of Christ” will be with me many years.

Something this play has done for me is give me a look into Jospeh Smith's daily life, and see how he was viewed by the common, unnamed people we never hear about. We usually hear lofty experiences from other church leaders; or simple experiences seen through their eyes. But now we saw him as the everyday person he interacted with saw him, and we heard their unshaken witness of his divine calling. I also got the chance to experience what it may have been like for me to personally know him; something I'm sure would have been amazing in and of itself. He truly was God's chosen servant to begin again what the world had lost.
