THE LIFE OF JOSEPH SMITH, FROM THE MOUTHS OF THOSE WHO KNEW HIM
A Theatrical Production by Angela Staheli

Cast Testimonies Continued:

We wanted to say that after being in the Nauvoo Pageant this past summer it was so fun to be able to refresh our testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith. My family was kind of reluctant to participate in it at first, but when we got started our whole family wanted to be able to do something even if it was just pretending to pick up rocks. My husband and I played "anti-Joseph" characters in the play and we had to really work at it. However, we were grateful for the opportunity to be able to represent a couple, Ida and Wealtha Hatch. They had a desire, left their home and went to meet the Prophet Joseph Smith. The interesting thing is He had been waiting for them--for three days. We didn't say anything, but it was fun doing it.Then, what made it more special for was when a Sister in our ward came up to us before sacrament meeting the next day and said,"Thank you for representing my great, great, great grand parents. That was exactly what happened." Sister Angie Staheli had really done her homework to make this real. "We're here because You're here" is what Parley P. Pratt says at the beginning of the Nauvoo Pageant. It's true!!! Truth always rings forth not just in word, but in feeling. You can tell a story is true and not made up by the way you feel with what you read, watch and even act. I know The Lord was pleased with what we were a part of. We all felt His guiding hand everyday we did the play. Satan wanted to stop and frustrate the work, but we were determined to make it happen and the Lord blessed us all for it!! The Spirit was extremely strong, we all felt it. We are so grateful to have been a part of such a great cast and crew!
