THE LIFE OF JOSEPH SMITH, FROM THE MOUTHS OF THOSE WHO KNEW HIM
Cast Testimonies Continued:
This was an extraordinary experience, being able to be in a play. This was the first time that I had done anything like this and I enjoyed every minute of it, plus making new friends. I played a few parts in the show (guard, officer, mobster, and an extra man). As the extra man, I was acquainted with Joseph Smith, but as the other characters, I was out to get Joseph Smith and all of his followers. This production of the Prophet has increased my testimony even more, even though I have never doubted that he was truly a Prophet of God. Being able to feel the warmth of the spirit, conveyed it to me within my heart. I also had the opportunity to speak with other cast members about our testimonies and personal experiences, and I can say we all feel the love that he had for us, truly he was a great man whom our Heavenly Father had chosen as a young boy to restore the Gospel for each and every one of us. I cannot, nor will I ever doubt that he did truly did have the vision of seeing Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. As I said earlier, I never doubted that Joseph Smith was Prophet of God, but this play has really inspired me even more to study his life even more. I love Joseph Smith. It's ironic that I had never really thought of the day when he and Hyrum were both killed by gunshot. It was June 27, 1844. One hundred sixty-three years later, my little brother was shot and killed June 27, 2007. That day will stick in my mind forever. I will always cherish the time my brother and I had, and I will also cherish what the Prophet Joseph Smith has done for us.
