Joseph Smith
Lover of the Cause of Christ
THE LIFE OF JOSEPH SMITH, FROM THE MOUTHS OF THOSE WHO KNEW HIM
A Theatrical Production by Angela Staheli

Cast Testimonies Continued:

First and foremost, I feel it is essential to state explicitly that any increase in testimony of Joseph Smith needs to be accompanied by an increase in faith in Jesus Christ. Without such, the testimony of Joseph will likely not have the strength to survive. My involvement in this play has helped to solidify my realization that the past is behind us and we must learn from it; the future is before us and we must prepare for it; the present is now and we must live in it. I am grateful for the examples of others, good and bad, in church history that I can learn from. My faith is strengthened to see how they reacted to trials and how the hand of the Lord was manifest in the lives of those who have gone before. Similarly, my faith is strengthened as I take the time to recognize the hand of the Lord in my life, now, today. It may have been nice to have lived near and met the Prophet Joseph Smith, yet it is nice to live now knowing that the truths of salvation and eternal life are as available to me as they are to those who have gone before. This strengthens my testimony of Joseph Smith and the work he was called to do, and it strengthens my faith in Jesus Christ for making it all possible.
